Means Locate a stranger or your friend on social network like facebook , twitter etc. Location of a person we are communicating helps us get a relevant friend other than this it will help you to tackle spam& abuses of person.

It might help you a lot in freelancing when we are communicating with some-one for business purpose on internet we might have some doubt about that person which can easily be cleared by tracking him.

Social spam is unwanted spam content appearing on social networks and any website with user-generated content (comments, chat, etc.). It can be manifested in many ways, including bulk messages, profanity, insults, hate speech, malicious links, fraudulent reviews, fake friends, and personally identifiable information.wiki

How to Track

First we will talk about facebook beacuse 70% of spamming are done from here simply beacuse it's world biggest social network

So If you want to track someone on internet you can do two thinks 

If that person is your facebook friend whom you want to track just simply go to his profile and make him/her your close friend then subscribe and click on all updates

Or If it's a complete stranger

@ Just simply invite him for chat and send some message.
@ Now, If that person makes an reply.
@ Simply open cmd(command-prompt) and type this command :  netstat -a , If you are using messanger use this command netstat -nbt
@ Now, command prompt will show all your computer’s IP Addresses and Receiver IP Address. 
@ Takes receiver ip address and go to http://www.whatismyipaddress.com/ or http://www.ip-address.org/ and track his loaction
