News Compressed : New flaw discovered in android linux kernel from which over 80% of an android device from kitkat and higher are vulnerable to this flaw said lookout, it's allow hackers to close the connection unencrypted traffic and degrade encrypted traffic to spy on victims.
This flaw in linux kernel first spotted by University of California in TCP protocol of all linux os, that let hackers to remotely Hijacking the Internet traffic.but this vulnerability is complicated and difficult to exploits, this attack not needed man in the middle like traditional ways just need to know the source and user ip address than the attack successfully terminated
This weakness in TCP utilized by Linux since 2012 may be accustomed deploy targeted attacks, track a user’s on-line activity and compromise the safety of unidentified networks like TOR.
The Linux Foundation has already patched the Linux kernel
Report from Lookout said the over 1.4 million of android device are vulnerable of this kernel flaw, device from android kitkat to it's higher are vulnerable.
Even the new android version Nougat are also vulnerable of kernel flaw
Researcher said that "The flaw manifests as a side channel that affects all Linux kernel versions 3.6 and beyond and may possibly be replicated in other operating systems if left unnoticed. We show that the flaw allows a variety of powerful blind off-path TCP attacks"
Windows and Macs are not distracted by this flaw because the google engineers are already aware about this flaw and they fix it by taking appropriate actions.
However the patch for kernel flaw found in July 11 2016. But now one if they patched there kernel against this flaw or not.This is most likely because the patch was not available prior to the most recent Android update.
